Welcome to the website of Stephanie Counselling, providing person-centred counselling services in Prestwich, North Manchester, and online.
These Terms of Service explain the conditions that apply when using this website and accessing the counselling services provided by Stephanie.
By using this website or engaging with my services, you acknowledge these terms.
1. About My Services
I provide person-centred counselling to individuals, offering both in-person and online sessions.
My approach is centred around creating a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
Counselling sessions are tailored to individual needs and are not intended to replace medical advice, psychiatric treatment or other specialist healthcare services.

Counselling is a collaborative process, and every individual's experience will be different.
I aim to provide a professional and supportive service, respecting your individual circumstances, experiences and personal boundaries.
Although counselling can support personal reflection, understanding and development, I cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results.
You are encouraged to discuss any concerns about the counselling process with me at any time.
4. Confidentiality
Confidentiality is an important part of the counselling relationship.
Information shared during sessions will be treated with care and kept confidential, subject to certain legal and ethical exceptions.
There may be circumstances where confidentiality needs to be limited, including:
Where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person.
Where there are safeguarding concerns, particularly involving children or vulnerable individuals.
Where disclosure is required by law or a court order.
Where information needs to be shared as part of professional supervision, in accordance with appropriate confidentiality arrangements.
Where possible and appropriate, I will aim to discuss any necessary disclosure with you beforehand.
Further information about how your personal information is handled can be found in my Privacy Policy.
5. Professional Boundaries
I aim to maintain appropriate professional boundaries throughout the counselling relationship.
Communication outside scheduled sessions should be limited to practical matters such as appointments, cancellations and general enquiries.
I am unable to provide emergency or crisis support through this website, email or standard counselling sessions.
If you are experiencing an immediate emergency, please contact emergency services on 999 or attend your nearest A&E department.
6. Fees and Payments
The cost of counselling sessions will be communicated to you before any booking is confirmed.
Payment arrangements, cancellation terms and other booking conditions are outlined in my Booking Policy.
I reserve the right to review my fees, but any changes will be communicated in advance and will not retrospectively affect confirmed bookings.
